Higuain targets Pichichi crown
Real Madrid striker, Gonzalo Higuain, is setting his sights on becoming the top goalscorer in the La Liga this season.
The Argentine striker is on a rich vein of form after scoring in each of his last six starts.
With eight goals to his name, he sits fourth in the goalscoring chart behind, David Villa (12), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (11) and Lionel Messi (9).
Speaking to AS, the prolific forward stated: "Overcoming the 22 league goals I got last year would be very important to me because of the progression that means. I am young and still have room for improvement,
"I am at my best since coming to Madrid, full of confidence in what I do and what we do.
"The Pichichi is a dream for me and also a goal, like any striker, but only if accompanied by the league title. In Spain there is a high level of quality up front, starting with [David] Villa, who already has 12 goals."
Higuain netted a brace at the weekend against Valencia in a 3-2 win that helped Madrid keep pace with league-leaders, Barcelona.
