Crocked Real Madrid defender Pepe has thanked the club's fans for their words of encouragement though the club's official website.

The Portuguese defender who has been ruled out for six months after suffering an ankle injury last weekend was almost in tears after reading the messages sent by fans and players alike.

Pepe could miss out of Real's title charge and possibly the World Cup finals with his country in South Africa.

But according to realmadrid.com, Pepe is motivated to a swift recovery after receiving so much support.

In return for all the "get-well" messages, the Madridista defender has sent this heartfelt message: "Thank you to you all. I know I will return much sooner."
