According to reports, Real Madrid have set Sergio Aguero as their top target but will turn to David Villa and Wayne Rooney as alternatives.

The Marca reported that Aguero is on the top of Madrid's wishlist which would not be good news for neighbours, Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine forward has a €60 million buy-out clause in his contract and Madrid could be tempted into a bid.

If they fail to sign Aguero, the Los Merengues will switch their focus onto Valencia's David Villa who's buy-out clause is €120 million.

Further down the pecking order, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney is said to be the third alternative behind Aguero and Villa.

This would infuriate Sir Alex Ferguson who has already lost his star striker, Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish giants in the summer.
