Agustin Jimenez, Eduardo Salvio’s agent, has claimed that his client is keen on joining La Liga club Atletico Madrid.

However, talks between his club Lanus and Atletico have been tentative at best, and the young Argentine striker has pleaded with his current club to lower their demands for the transfer to go through.

"Salvio is really looking forward to playing for Atletico Madrid. He has made up his mind and wants to join them," Jimenez told AS.

"Negotiations are still ongoing, but there's a gap to close before an agreement is reached. Atletico want to pay the transfer fee in installments, while Lanus want the entire amount at once."

The 19-year-old forward is coveted by many European clubs and is currently one of the most promising youngsters in world football. The Rojiblancos appear to be the favourite to land his services, though Fiorentina are in the race as well.
