Granero: Happy but I want more playtime
Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero is happy to be part of the current squad, but he wants more minutes on the pitch.
The creative midfielder spoke at a press conference and discussed his current situation in the squad.
"Getting into the starting XI at Real Madrid is very difficult. If it were easy, this club would not be as great as it is.
"I have already gotten into the squad and I am working well. If I have the opportunity and luck to play, I will be prepared. I understand that Raul would take the pitch before me because he's a player that can change the balance of a match in any moment. It is normal that he would have minutes."
"It is difficult to play all the time. I am growing as a player and I am happy to be here at Real Madrid...although I need minutes".
The starlet was also delighted by the number of fans who attended the team's first open training of the year.
"The kids were very happy to see us and it is a special day. It is a great thing to do, but in a measured fashion. Sometimes it is better to have private trainings so that one can focus more. We are happy to give this gift to the fans."
Called El Pirata by the Madrid fans, the 22-year-old believes that the club is progressing under Manuel Pellegrini's direction.
