Barcelona president Joan Laporta could not fault his team despite their exit from Copa del Rey at the hands of Sevilla.

The Catalan side won 1-0 away to Sevilla, but still exited the tournament on the away goals rule. The Andalucians had defeated Barcelona 2-1 at the Camp Nou in the first leg.

"I am very proud of my team", Laporta was quoted as saying by Marca.

"We had the opportunity and desire to beat Sevilla. We must congratulate them because they have qualified. The players were faithful to our style.

This is an incentive to continue playing according to our ideals."

The president was generous in his praise of victors Sevilla as well.

"Sevilla has always caused us problems. They beat us in the European Super Cup, and would have beaten anyone today. We were better here, and they beat us at home."

"In the end, we have lost on goal difference."
