Granero: Real the best place to be
Midfielder Esteban Granero has declared Real Madrid as the 'best place' to learn as a footballer.
El pirata told realmadrid.com that getting picked for games for Real has given him the confidence to improve.
"I work hard every day to become an important player on the team," said the 22-year-old. "Being given the chance to play and managing to perform well makes me confident."
"We are ready to fight hard in the second leg. We feel strong. Facing strong teams at home gives us a certain advantage, but we must improve and perform at the highest possible level to win La Liga."
"This is the best place I could be to learn. I've improved considerably in the past six months, more so than in my previous years as a professional player. Being at Real Madrid makes one very demanding of oneself."
"Raul sets a great example. He always helps out, both on and off the pitch."
A graduate of Real's youth team, Granero spent two years at Getafe before returning to Real this season. He has so far held his own against the world-class talents of Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Kaka.
