
Marcelo pens new Madrid deal
Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has extended his contract with the Spanish giants until 2015, the club have confirmed.
Marcelo, who also plays as a winger, has been at Madrid since joining from Fluminense in January 2007 and has been more or less an ever present in the team following Roberto Carlos' departure to Fenerbahce that summer.
The 21-year-old has made nearly 100 appearances in all competitions for the Primera Division outfit.
Madrid confirmed Marcelo's new deal in a brief statement on their website.
It read: "Real Madrid and Marcelo Vieira have signed the contract renewal with which the player will remain tied to the club until June 2015."
The Brazil international has won two Primera Division titles and the Spanish Super Cup during his stay at the Bernabeu as well as helping his country to a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics.
