Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol is adamant that his side are now ready to challenge for silverware on all fronts.

Albiol helped Madrid to a 3-0 win over Espanyol at the Bernabeu on Saturday and spoke to Marca after the game.

He said:"We feel more comfortable now."

"We are a lot stronger now that we know each other.

"We must continue in this vein.

"We cannot fail in the League or Champions League."

The Spanish international went on to touch on Madrid's game against Espanyol.

He added: "Today we began very well."

"The first half was good, and then we controlled the game with a two goal advantage. It was important to win, and 3-0 is a good result.

"We have played a lot of games having seen Barcelona's result. They are not going to drop many points, so we have to win all our games.

"We know that to win the league, we need around 90 points."

Barcelona also won their game against Getafe on Saturday which meant that Madrid were unable to close the five-point gap between the two sides.
