Osasuna 1-0 Tenerife
Osasuna continued their climb up the table with a slender La Liga victory over relegation-threatened Tenerife.
Carlos Aranda got the only goal of the game in the 48th minute as he fired home from Javier Camunas' pass for Los Rojillos.
The win saw Jose Antonio Camacho's side secure a fourth straight victory for the first time since 2006 following successes against Espanyol, Xerez and Villarreal in recent weeks.
The defeat sees the visitors remain in the relegation zone as Jose Luis Oltra attempts to save their top-flight status. They have now picked up just three points from their last eight games and they remain without an away win since winning promotion last season.
The hosts completely dominated the first 10 minutes and should really have been a goal to the good.
Former Birmingham striker Walter Pandiani fired wide when well-placed and Camunas then forced a magnificent save from Sergio Aragoneses in the Tenerife goal as his powerful shot from 25 yards threatened to fly inside the keeper's right-hand post.
Shojaei Massoud also tried his luck from distance before Pandiani missed a sitter for Osasuna.
Midfielder Nacho Monreal delivered a superb cross but Pandiani headed straight at Aragoneses from just six yards to allow the keeper to parry the ball to safety.
Tenerife finally found some composure and they forced Osasuna keeper Ricardo Lopez into his first meaningful save of the contest thanks to Alejandro Alfaro's shot.
Alfaro then headed weakly at the keeper in the 21st minute after a pinpoint cross from Francisco Nino had picked him out.
Left-back Monreal was causing the visitors huge problems with his purposeful surges down the flank, and another burst saw him set up Aranda with a fine centre, but Aragoneses produced a superb save to keep the game goalless.
Mikel Alonso drilled wide for Tenerife and they almost took a 31st-minute lead through Ricardo.
The influential midfielder got away a fierce drive from just inside the box, but Ricardo Lopez was once again able to tip the ball to safety.
The wasteful Pandiani missed yet another chance when the Uruguay international blazed wildly over the bar as half-time approached.
But the home side finally made one of their chances pay when Aranda finished well three minutes into the second stanza.
Camunas' pass from the right flank found the forward in space and he kept his cool to beat Aragoneses.
Tenerife looked to hit back quickly as Alonso fired a free-kick just wide and Ricardo got away a shot from outside the area which went wide of the left-hand post.
Aranda was booked for a foul on substitute Julian Omar but went close to getting his second moments later as Aragoneses did well to hold his stinging 25-yard effort.
Tenerife rarely threatened to find an equaliser but Francisco Nino could have salvaged a point for them with just two minutes to play but he missed the target with just Ricardo Lopez to beat.
