Sevilla's Manolo Jimenez unimpressed
Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez admitted it was a "game to forget" after his side fell to a 2-1 defeat against Real Zaragoza.
Striker Alvaro Negredo, whose own goal in the 42nd minute turned out to be Zaragoza's winner, and defender Marius Stankevicius were the men dismissed late on as Sevilla suffered their fifth league defeat in their last seven outings.
The loss meant Sevilla dropped out of the Champions League places, with Real Mallorca replacing them in the top four.
Jimenez, who also saw goalscorer Frederic Kanoute go off injured, said: "It was a game to forget in every aspect, from start to finish.
"Their two goals came from dead-ball situations and that was the key to the game. We cannot allow ourselves to concede such an easy goal as we did for the second.
"It was a bad game. With the changes we improved our possession, but we didn't seen the Sevilla that can beat anybody."
Sevilla do not have long to lick their wounds as they are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Getafe in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final.
The Andalusian side hold a 2-0 lead from last week's first meeting at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
"We have to have a rethink because, if we want to continue in three competitions, we have to be competitive in every one of them and not have our minds on anything other than the match that is closest," added Jimenez, who will now be without Negredo and Stankevicius for the Getafe match due to suspension.
"The sendings-off have caused us a lot of damage, and also the injury to Kanoute.
"What really worries me is the absence of Stankevicius because we only have four defenders."
Despite his problems, Jimenez remains confident of his side's chances against Getafe, saying: "What I guarantee is that the 11 that go out against Getafe will be competitive and I think that game will be a different story. We are going there to win.
"Sevilla have to go to win, which we have not done in this game."
