Casillas set for 500th Real game
Iker Casillas will be setting a milestone this weekend, as he gets ready for his 500th appearance for Real Madrid.
Casillas, who is just 28, has recorded 368 appearances in La Liga, 101 in the Champions League, 16 in the Copa del Rey, and another 14 in other competitions - all for Real Madrid.
The Spanish international has been a firm fans' favourite ever since he made his telling contribution during Real Madrid's Champions League final win over Bayer Leverkusen in 2002.
Since making his debut for Real aged 19, Casillas has since been hailed as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
He was ranked 4th in the 2008 European Footballer of the Year voting, and also the highest ranked goalkeeper in 2009. At the end of 2009, he was voted into the UEFA Team of the Year for the third consecutive time.
Casillas will be hoping to celebrate the landmark with a clean sheet against lowly Xerez.
