Pique: Barcelona are full of confidence

Barcelona's Gerard Pique has claimed that injuries and the defeat to Atletico Madrid have not dented the team's confidence.

The Catalan club has suffered a spate of fitness woes in recent times with Eric Abidal, Dani Alves, Yaya Toure as well as Xavi and Seyoudu Keita all carrying niggles.

Pique however was reported in AS as saying that he was confident of the injury worries going away "in a couple of weeks".

Speaking about Real Madrid's Champions League loss to Lyon on Tuesday Piquet said, "If they [Madrid] are eliminated, they will have more time for La Liga, but if they continue, we could find ourselves facing them. Either way it doesn't worry me."

He claimed that it was imperative for all teams to stay focussed at all times during the Champions League.

"If you lose concentration for even 10 minutes, it can cost you the tournament. It is [in the Champions League] that one demonstrates whether a team is prepared for big matches."

The strapping defender also brushed aside talks of Thierry Henry's imminent departure from Barcelona. Henry has not started the last few games for the champions.

Pique said the Frenchman would soon "return to the pitch, if not this Saturday, then next Saturday." According to Pique , Henry "continues to work as always and is very strong in training. There is no cause for worry."
