The father of Villareal forward Giuseppe Rossi’s father has passed away according to a club report on their official website.

The striker had been given permission by his club to return to New Jersey to spend time with his father since earlier this month, and has missed four matches so far.

The report also mentions that Rossi has been in touch with the club in the last week and has informed them that he will be back with the Yellow Submarines soon.

It is believed that he will back in time for this weekend's clash with against Deportivo La Coruna.
