Real, Barca want Jesus Navas

Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to fight for the right to sign Sevilla's mercurial winger Jesus Navas.

Spanish-based paper Marca has claimed the Spanish giants are prepared to settle for Navas if they cannot secure the signature of long-time target Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich.

Navas has been seen as a long-term target for Los Blancos and Real president Florentino Perez will ensure this transfer goes through.

Real could be thwarted, according to the same paper, by the player's contract which has a release clause set at €60 million. Sevilla president Jose Maria De Nido has also said his club will never sell Navas.

Meanwhile, Barcelona-based daily Sport released a report on Wednesday, which also stated Barca's interest in the winger as they look for a long-term replacement for Thierry Henry. The report suggested that Barca will fight Real for Navas's signature.

The Spanish winger impressed on-lookers as it was his run and cross that created Sevilla's opening goal against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday.
