Barcelona vs Malaga Preview
Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure admits the all-conquering Catalan side are finding this season tough going after.
Pep Guardiola's side won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, Champions League, domestic and European Super Cups and the World Club Championship in 2009 in what proved to be an astonishing first season for the young coach.
Barca have found it difficult to hit the heights of last season in the current campaign and are already out of the Spanish Cup.
Toure admits that even though they are sitting two points clear of Real Madrid in the Primera Division table, the after-effects of last season are taking their toll.
"It's much harder after winning six titles," said the Ivory Coast international ahead of tomorrow's visit of in-form Malaga.
"We can't make any mistakes any more. Everybody thinks we're unbeatable, and that's not true. We are human and teams are fired up when they play us.
"There are so many games, and after what happened last year, it's not easy.
"There are difficult times in sport, and this is one of them. We don't just have to think about beating Malaga and Stuttgart. We have to be at 100% and play easy, delicate football.
"But we are well prepared and focused on our objectives. However, both the league and Champions League are going to be very hard this time around.
"It will be difficult because they are a good team. We can't waste this chance at home because we need three points to stay on top of the table."
Barca are still without left-back Eric Abidal and Seydou Keita due to injury but Daniel Alves is in contention after returning to full training after a calf problem.
While Alves is unlikely to be risked against the Andalusian visitors tomorrow, Toure has welcomed his imminent availability.
"He is a very important player, a machine that is always ready to run," said the midfielder.
"I hope he gets fit soon and be able to help us."
Toure, meanwhile, has confirmed he is learning Catalan after appearing on the club's TV channel last week speaking the local language.
Coach Guardiola and several of Barca's many Catalan players address the media primarily in Catalan and Toure - who has been linked with a move away from the club this season - revealed he has thrown himself into the task.
"I am taking classes at home with my wife because it's very important for me to be able to speak the language of the country," he said.
Tomorrow's match at the Nou Camp sees Juan Ramon Muniz's side arrive on the back of a home victory against Espanyol last week.
Goalkeeper Francesc Arnau, who began his career with Barca and made a brief foray into the first team, admits he is relishing a return to his home city.
"Just because I am well settled in Malaga doesn't mean I don't miss Barcelona," he told fcbarcelona.cat.
"It is always nice to revisit old friends and go back to the Camp Nou.
"It is great to feel again the sensation of playing for Barca. I was very young and these are things that affect you for life."
Muniz expects to be able to call on key midfielder Duda and defender Jesus Gamez, who are fit after recent injuries, though Apono, Helder Rosario and Ivan Gonzalez are still in the treatment room.
