Sevilla's Palop haunted by howler

Sevilla goalkeeper Andres Palop revealed that he can't stop reliving the blunder that dumped his team out of Europe.

Palop fisted a pacy free-kick from Keisuke Honda of CSKA Moscow right into his own net - a goal which ultimately cost his team a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Palop already apologised to the fans but is still upset by his mistake.

Speaking to AS, he said: "I can't disconnect from it. It's a situation I have never experienced here.

"I looked to my family in the stands for support [after the goal] but that did nothing to help."

"I ask for forgiveness at this painful and confusing time."

Looking at the brighter side of things, Palop concluded: "We can still meet the objectives we set at teh start of the season.".
