Albelda drops case against Valencia

Midfielder David Albelda has dropped his lawsuit against Valencia following the change of board and coach at the Mestalla.

The Spain international was prepared to go to court to win a free transfer and compensation after being frozen out along with Santiago Canizares and Miguel Angel Angulo under former coach Ronald Koeman.

Albelda did not immediately drop the case after being reinstated to the squad by new coach Salvador Gonzalez 'Voro' and was jeered by the club's fans as a result.

But his lawyer confirmed on Friday that the 30-year-old had instructed him to withdraw the case.
