Emery rules out major changes
Emery has ruled out making sweeping changes as he aims to take Los Che back to the top.
Valencia finally ended the season in 10th place, but not before they had gone into free-fall under former boss Ronald Koeman, leaving them hovering above the relegation zone going into the final weeks of the campaign.
An exodus of the club's top players, such as David Villa and David Silva, has now been predicted as the club looks to solve some of the financial trouble caused by Koeman's sizeable pay-off and problems with the construction of a new stadium.
But Emery, who worked wonders with very few big names at Almeria this season, insists that even with players leaving the club there is still enough talent to form the basis of a top side.
"The normal thing there (at Valencia) is to be among the top six. This requires effort, sacrifice and reigniting the excitement of all involved," he told Spanish newspaper Marca.
"There is a good base for Valencia to return to where it needs to be. A large part of next year's Valencia side is already there.
"There are important players who we know may leave if good offers come in for them, but there is going to be a competitive side here."
Emery also claims that new signings are not the answer to the club's woes.
Instead of an influx of new faces, the 36-year-old believes a change of attitude among the existing squad members is more important for returning the side to the top of Spanish football.
He said: "In the past few years, Valencia have come closer to falling to pieces than having some kind of unity. This is the first thing I have to change."
