Guardiola: Barcelona never relax
Pep Guardiola hailed Barcelona's commitment after the 4-2 win over Real Betis and says his side want to win every silverware on offer.
The Catalan giants kept themselves within five points of La Liga leaders Real Madrid as Alexis Sanchez and Lionel Messi scored crucial late goals after Real Betis had come back from two goals down.
It was a uncharacteristic defensive lapse by the reigning champions. But the Spanish coach never doubted his side's commitment and believes the players desire every trophy they are fighting for.
"They have to do a pretty poor job for me to doubt their commitment and level of relaxation," he told the club's official website.
"If anything this team doesn't relax. It's impossible to win everything we've won if they didn't behave the way they do."
"I haven't seen any symptoms of them not wanting to try until the end, to win all the titles in play."
Midfielder Andres Iniesta picked up a yellow card in the second-half after being alleged to have dived in the penalty area - though it appeared he was genuinely felled by Jefferson Montero.
And Guardiola revealed the club have decided to appeal against the booking, saying: "Normally we don't appeal these things, but we will on this one."
Looking ahead to the midweek Copa del Rey quarter-final showdown against Madrid, Guardiola insists his side will approach it with the right mentality.
He added: "In Madrid we will play with the playoff (mindset) not just a single game."
"We'll look at Madrid's variants in the last couple of matches"
