Emery confident of Barca upset
Valencia manager Unai Emery believes that his side are capable of pulling off an upset against Barcelona when the two sides meet in the Copa del Rey semifinal.
Valencia earned their spot in the semifinals in a convincing manner with a 7-1 aggregate victory over Levante after Thursday's 3-0 second leg win.
Emery admits that his side are the lesser fancied one going up against Barcelona but refuses to write his side's chances off.
He said: "Yes, it will be hard [against Barcelona], but we can do it. We will try. In terms of motivation, yes, we will be favourites."
Emery then expressed his delight at Valencia's performance in a match in which he fielded a much-changed team and was glad that his side came through unscathed.
"We seek the mentality of building a team without regular starters, but with trust and with the capacity to play to win, regardless of the result," he added.
"We did it today with no sending-offs and with a clean sheet."
Valencia will play the first leg of the semifinal at the Mestalla Stadium on the 1 February and go to Camp Nou to play the second leg a week later on 9 February.
