David Villa snubs Chelsea
On-form Spanish striker David Villa will snub Roman Abramovich by rejecting a multi-million pound move to Chelsea.
The Valencia sharpshooter prefers to remain in his native Spain and is eyeing a switch to either Real Madrid or Barcelona. However, he is not alone in being targeted by the Blues as his national strike partner Fernando Torres is also being lined up by the West London side.
But Chelsea look set to lose out on both as Villa wants to stay in his homeland while Liverpool will reject any bid for El Nino.
Villa, who struck his fourth goal of Euro 2008 against Sweden on Saturday, is hot property and his club Valencia are resigned to losing the starlet but the striker has apparently told friends he wants to go to either of the Spanish heavyweights, Real Madrid or Barcelona should they come calling.
His dislike for Chelsea not only stems from a geographical point of view, as Villa has stated his preference for Arsenal to the former because of their style of play.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez tried to twice sign Villa from Real Zaragoza and although the likelihood of Benitez signing the striker is slim, Villa is a fan of the Anfield gaffer.
Villa's destination is still unknown but whoever gets the Valencia forward will be getting one of the best strikers in the world.
