Valencia confident Villa will stay
Valencia have confirmed receiving offers for David Villa, but remain convinced the Spain star will be staying put.
Technical secretary Juan Sanchez revealed on Wednesday that "more clubs than those being spoken about" in the media have put in bids for Villa, but as yet none have offered the kind of money that would tempt the club to part with their star player.
"I've got a feeling that in the end he'll stay - honestly," Sanchez told Spanish newspaper AS.
He added: "There's been a lot of talk, that's normal with such a talented player and with what he's doing at Euro 2008.
"A number of teams have come in with offers, more than are being spoken about, but both (coach Unai) Emery and I think that he's going to stay."
Sanchez refused to be drawn on the names of those clubs making offers, nor the price they were willing to pay.
However, he insinuated that for an offer to be listened to it would have to be in excess of the sums of money being asked for other players in Villa's position.
"I don't want to mention names nor amounts of money, but it's normal that there's a lot of people who want him," he continued.
