Palop rules out Valencia move
Andres Palop has ruled out a move to Valencia while revealing his former club "made quite an effort" to land his services.
Valencia president Agustin Morera has not hidden his desire to bring the 34-year-old stopper back to Mestalla as a replacement for Santiago Canizares, who has been told he can leave, and Timo Hildebrand, who has failed to impress.
But Palop, who was second choice for Los Che between 1999 and 2005, told Spanish newspaper Marca on Tuesday that negotiations were "finished".
"My thoughts are 100 per cent on Sevilla, and this deal is practically over. In football you never know, but this is finished," he said.
"Sevilla have given me everything, what I am I owe to Sevilla and I'm not going to start a war to pressure them into selling me and leave under a cloud.
"I said the only way I would go is if all three parties were happy, and if nobody was upset by this, because that wouldn't be good for me."
