Calderon: No Eto'o return
Real Madrid supremo Ramón Calderón has brushed aside reports that the club want to bring back Samuel Eto’o.
While reports from Spain claimed that Real boss Bernd Schuster was keen to swoop for the fiery Cameroonian with a shock bid, Calderón was quick to refute the murmurs, citing the unique no-signings pact between Real and Barcelona.
"There is no Eto'o case. I do not know where this has come from because more than anything, it is logical, that Barcelona would not sell a player to Real Madrid," he explained.
"We have a very strong squad that has just won the league. If we do end up signing players, there will be very few and they will be very good."
While the Real chief has been intensely championing for the arrival of Ronaldo, Calderón admitted that he has done all he can and must now wait for the Portuguese’s next move.
"We have nothing to say on this theme. We are just spectators, a passive observer in the matter," he claimed.
