Agent: Joaquin Roma move unlikely

The agent of Joaquin has admitted that Roma are interested in the Valencia winger but doubts any move will materialize.

Reports have been strongly circulating in Italy that Los Che have received a US$22 million bid for the former Spanish international from an unidentified Serie club.

The Italian press have mooted that the team in question is Roma, who have made no secret of their desire to sign attacking reinforcements after selling Brazilian Amantino Mancini to Inter Milan.

Joaquin's agent Christoph Graf has confessed that the capital club have expressed an interest in the winger but doubts whether his client will make the switch to Rome.

"There was some interest by Roma in the player," Graf told Laromasiamonoi.it.

"But at this moment I cannot say whether the €15m offer that Valencia have received is from the Giallorossi.

"If I have to give a straight answer, I believe that the player will not go to Roma, but I cannot really say any more than this now."

Joaquin, 27, who joined Valencia from Real Betis two years ago for a whopping US$37 million, was tipped as one of Spain's hottest properties ever since he broke onto the scene with scintillating performances for Betis but his stock has fallen spectacularly after failing to live up to his big-money move at the Mestalla.

He seems almost certain to depart Valencia this summer not only to resurrect his career, but to also provide Valencia with some much needed relief funds, given their precarious financial situation.
