Chiellini returns to training

Giorgio Chiellini is working towards returning for the match against Udinese after completing a training session.

Chiellini hurt his knee in a friendly defeat to AC Milan in the Berlusconi Trophy at the San Siro in August, with several reports claiming that the Italian defender suffered a cruciate ligament injury in his knees that would have ruled him out for the season.

However, the defender did not hurt himself that badly, but medical reports stated that he would be out for at least six weeks.

Chiellini's recovery rate has been outstanding, and he is back in full training, taking part in drills with his teammates.

The 24-year-old also participated in an internal scrimmage, along with Marco Marchionni, David Trezeguet and Christiano Zanetti, who are also returning to full health.

All four played well in the intra-squad match, with the quartet all in contention for a spot against Udinese next week at the Stadio Olimpico.
