Moratti: Adriano is staying

Inter president Massimo Moratti brushed aside speculation that Adriano will leave the San Siro in January.

Italian media reports claimed the 26-year-old had asked to be made available in the winter transfer window following a fall-out with coach Jose Mourinho.

However, when asked if Adriano had asked the club to be loaned out in January, Moratti told the club's official website, www.inter.it: "No, I do not believe that is the case."

The South American, who played on a six-month loan deal at Sao Paulo before returning to the Nerazzurri this summer, is out of favour with Mourinho.

The Portuguese tactician left the striker out of the squad for Wednesday's game at Fiorentina as punishment for a late night out.

"All I know is, like other players, he went out that night (Sunday)," Moratti said.

Inter travel south to meet Reggina on Saturday.
