Juve's Knezevic out for three months

Juventus defender Dario Knezevic will be out of action for three months after knee surgery, the club have confirmed.

Knezevic went under the knife on Sunday following a cartilage injury suffered during Juve's 2-1 win at Bologna four days earlier.

And news of the Croatia international's lengthy lay-off was revealed shortly afterwards.

"As was planned, this morning surgery was performed on Dario Knezevic's left knee which was injured at Bologna," read a statement on the Juventus website, www.juventus.it.

"The surgery, performed in Arezzo by professor Giuliano Cerulli's team, was quite a success. The player will be discharged presumably on Wednesday to return to Turin.

"The period for his full recovery will be around 90 days."

The news will come as a big blow to coach Claudio Ranieri whose squad has been plagued by injuries all season.
