Mihajlovic to replace Arrigoni
Bologna confirmed the departure of coach Daniele Arrigoni with Sinisa Mihajlovic immediately installed as coach.
The news comes a day after Arrigoni's promoted side lost 5-1 to Cagliari, which leaves them just a point off the foot of the table. In a statement on the club's website, Bologna confirmed Mihajlovic would be officially unveiled as the new boss at a press conference at 11am local time on Tuesday.
"Bologna FC 1909 can confirm that the club has released Daniel Arrigoni from his assignment as coach," the statement read.
"The club would like to express their thanks to Arrigoni for his professional approach to the role during his time in charge and the extraordinary results he achieved in earning promotion last season," it added.
"The coaching role will now be entrusted to Sinisa Mihajlovic who will be introduced to the press on Tuesday at 11am."
Mihajlovic's appointment is his first ever as a first-team coach after spending three seasons as an assistant to Roberto Mancini at Internazionale.
The 39-year-old Serbian left Inter at the end of last season when Mancini was sacked despite leading Inter to a hat-trick of Serie A titles.
Arrigoni's dismissal, meanwhile, brings to an end a 16-month stay at the club after he joined from Livorno in June last year.
The 49-year-old led the Rossoblu back into the top flight after they finished second in Serie B last year. Bologna's return to Serie A began with a memorable 2-1 win away to AC Milan on the opening day, but Arrigoni subsequently saw his side lose eight of their last nine league games.
