AC Milan 1-2 S.S. Lazio
Lazio sealed their place in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia with a 2-1 extra time victory over Serie A rivals AC Milan.
The match got off to a slow start in front of a half-full San Siro but sparked into life in the second half when Emerson was sent off after 66 minutes for a second bookable offence.
Despite being a man down, it was the Rossoneri who broke the deadlock after 77 minutes as Andriy Shevchenko bagged his first goal at the San Siro since March 2006.
Milan looked to be heading for the last eight until Giuseppe Favalli fouled Goran Pandev in the area three minutes from time and Mauro Zarate levelled from the spot to force the extra periods.
And the capital club wasted little time grabbing the winner after the restart, Pandev firing home after Milan goalkeeper Dida spilled his initial shot.
The hosts tried to force a leveller but their numerical disadvantage clearly told and they could not prevent Lazio from progressing to a quarter-final clash against either Fiorentina or Torino.
