Ranieri wants Gallas at Juventus

Claudio Ranieri is looking to sign William Gallas in the January transfer window according to reports from The Daily mail.

The current Juventus manager had initially brought Gallas to Stamford Bridge for £6.2million in May 2001. Ranieri is keen to reunite with the Arsenal defender according to sources close to the Italian club.

This looks to be a way out for the Arsenal defender who has had a dismal time at the Emirates in recent times. He was initially stripped of the captaincy by Arsene Wenger after a public display of discontentment with his team mates.

Contrary to the reports, Wenger who signed Gallas in August 2006 insists he is not putting the player out in the transfer market in January. However the centre back has since voiced his desire that he wants to move abroad as soon as possible.

The Italian club is hoping Gallas who is an experienced campaigner, will help strengthen their squad and help boost their chances for the Serie A title.
