Galaxy: Becks will return stateside

The LA Galaxy have said David Beckham is going to return from AC Milan as planned, despite the transfer rumours.

Beckham joined the Italian giants temporarily on loan from the MLS earlier this year as a means to maintain his match fitness during the US league's offseason. The England man got more that what he bargained for, as his form exploded at the San Siro.

The set-piece specialist was such a revelation on and off the pitch that the Rossoneri quickly made their interest in Beckham public, hoping to snag the former Real Madrid ace on a permanent deal. Beckham himself has gone on record to state his desire to stay at the San Siro.

However, the LA Galaxy insist they are not going to part with one of their franchise's cornerstones, with the deadline to sign the midfielder long past.

The LA front office reiterated their desire for Becks to return in an interview.

"He plays on the 8th," read a statement from the LA Galaxy. "He's due to head back after that game."

This means that Beckham's time with AC Milan is about to come to an end, unless the Rossoneri and the Galaxy can thrash out some sort of deal.
