Beckham good, Ronaldinho bad!
AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti lauded praise on David Beckham while criticising Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho.
Ancelotti revealed that he did not expect Beckham to be of much use when he first joined the Italian giants but the English midfielder's attitude in training changed his impression of the player.
Speaking to Foot Magazine, Ancelotti said: 'At the beginning he (Beckham) was set to train with us for two months and I didn't think about playing him,
'We tried to get him four years earlier and two years ago but the negotiations faded away. I can say he is a great player. He has won me over with his performances and his character.'
Beckham has played nine times for Milan since his arrival with two goals under his belt.
Ancelotti went the other way when he was asked about Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho.
"Players like him (Ronaldinho) base everything on talent,' said Ancelotti.
'I have coached many great players and the majority think they can make the difference just with talent.
'This is not true. In modern football if you don't have good physical condition and work in training it's difficult to shine in a game.'
Ronaldinho has failed to live up to expectations and has seen himself drop down the pecking order with Kaka and Pato fast becoming the manager's favoured strike combination.
