Lippi: Mourinho went overboard
Italy national team manager Marcello Lippi slammed Internazionale's Jose Mourinho for his distasteful comments.
Internazionale boss Mourinho launched a stinging attack on fellow Serie A coaches with a series of tirades that involved Juventus, AC Milan and Roma.
Juve coach Claudio Ranieri hit back while Milan captain Paolo Maldini also came out in defence of his club.
Speaking to Rete 4 show ‘Controcampo', Lippi said: "I do not want to judge anyone but I feel that we should tone things down,
"No-one doubts that he is an intelligent man and a great manager but he was undeniably disrespectful towards his colleagues and other clubs during that press conference."
The Azzurri boss also issued a warning to Mourinho when he said that the league title race in Italy is very much alive.
"The league has taken a certain path but Inter have still to win it. There are still a lot of important games coming up," noted the ex-Juventus tactician.
