Sheva lauds Pippo and Pato

Fallen idol Andriy Shevchenko lauded praise on his AC Milan teammates Filippo Inzaghi and Alexandre Pato.

With Alexandre Pato and particularly Filippo Inzaghi continuing to steal the headlines for Milan,a certain Andriy Shevchenko sits patiently on the bench.

Pato and Inzaghi has been leading the attacking line for Milan in recent games and both have shown a telepathic understanding which has led to many goals between the pair.

Speaking to Sky Sport, Sheva said: "Pippo [Inzaghi] has always scored goals,

"He never quit scoring. There was a moment where he also had some physical problems, but then he recovered again.Scoring goals is in his blood, he doesn't need anything else."

The Ukrainian striker also went on to elaborate on his own situation with the Rossoneri.

"I always hoped to reach the great Nordahl (Milan's record goalscorer), but I'm afraid it's very difficult. Scoring again would be wonderful, but to score you have to play."

With many Milan fans suggesting that Pato is the heir apparent to Shevchenko, the man himself was quick to reject such claims.

"No, Pato has his own characteristics. In Milan's history no two players have been alike. If a player is a great champion, he should write his own history with his own name, he should not resemble someone else.

"The only thing Pato and I have in common is that he's a second striker like me. I think he has all the qualities to write Milan's history."

Sheva's future is uncertain and it will be decided at the end of the season whether he will return to Chelsea or stay with the Serie A giants.
