Juventus fans issue protest
Juventus' lacklustre end to their season has prompted fans to release a new statement to the club as a form of protest.
The Bianconeri have not given Inter Milan any challenge at all in the race for the Scudetto and have lost second place to Milan on goal-difference.
They are also out of the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.
The ultras in the Curva Sud have come together to protest and released a statement warning the directors that they won't stand for another season like this.
"Juve are a prestigious side and we won't let anyone turn this into a provincial club that is sent spiralling by any old opponent," the supporters were quoted as saying.
"This is the time to stop messing us around. The directors have gone round the issue with concepts like ‘we are newly promoted', ‘we have the money to create a great squad,' ‘we'll win within five years' and ‘we will open up to the fans.
"Instead the signings over the last three years have transformed a leading team into an economically shrunk outfit."
The ultras are particularly angry with the transfer campaign, as players such as Tiago Mendes, Christian Poulsen, Dario Knezevic and Jonathan Zebina have proved to be flops.
Above all they are taking action to prevent the return of Fabio Cannavaro, who walked out on Juventus when they were demoted in the 2006 Calciopoli scandal.
The fans have certain power in terms of transfer policy, as their protests put a spanner in a proposed bid for Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic last summer.
"Enough of these false champions," added the open letter. "We demand to be treated with more respect, something we cannot enjoy when the club tries to sign Stankovic and Cannavaro."
