Mourinho: Loss won't stop us

Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has claimed he is not concerned about his side's title chances after their 1-0 defeat at Napoli.

Inter lead at the top of Serie A has been cut to just seven points after Mourinho's men suffered a shock defeat away at Napoli.

Zalayeta beat Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar with a first-time shot from the edge of the box after 73 minutes to bring about Inter's third defeat of the season..

The defeat coupled with AC Milan's 3-0 victory over Palermo means Inter are seven points ahead of their city rivals with five games to play.

Nevertheless, the self-styled ‘Special One' is adamant that the defeat is merely a blip.

"There is no need to be worried about the reduction of our lead. I do not need to know how many points Milan or Juventus are behind us," the former Chelsea coach declared.

"All we need to worry about is that we require nine points to win the championship. We have five matches to play, including three at the San Siro. We are in an ideal situation."

Mourinho was, however, quick to praise a resilient Napoli side whose win lifted them to 12th in the Serie A standings.

"If there was one team that deserved the result to go their way, it was Napoli," Mourinho said.

"It was a typical game that could have easily ended 0-0. In the first half it was fairly even, and we did well to restrict their opportunities. In the second though, we weren't great, and in the end we suffered.

"It was a dull match, but again, if anyone deserved to win a little more than the other, it was certainly Napoli.

"We did not approach the match with the right attitude, as we showed little determination or conviction."

Inter's title charge continues next Saturday when they entertain Lazio.
