Alonso back on Juve radar
Serie A giants Juventus have once again put Liverpool star Xabi Alonso on the list of players they want to sign this summer.
Alonso has been consistently linked with a move to the Turin outfit, something that almost became reality at the end of last season before Juve moved to sign Christian Poulsen from Sevilla.
The talented Spain international has already gone on record to say that he would find it difficult to ignore an approach from Claudio Ranieri's side, despite being disappointed that he failed to sign last time around.
"To be honest, for my part, the attraction (to Juventus) has remained intact," said Alonso in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Juventus are Juventus, the most prestigious club in Italy, but you cannot be disappointed when you play for Liverpool," he added.
However, Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez's recent claim that he will have to sell players in order to finance an end of season spending spree has once sparked rumours that Alonso is on his way to Italy.
It's a deal that Italian super-agent Ernesto Bronzetti believes is close to happening.
"I will try and bring in Alonso for the Juventus central midfield. There was a long chase last summer for his signature, of course, so it is a road we know," he told The Sun newspaper.
"Pairing him with Momo Sissoko would be a title-winning midfield. The problem is that it would be very hard and expensive to take such an important player away from Liverpool."
