Milan: We won't force Kaka to stay
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has stated that Kaka will not be forced to stay at the club if he doesn't want to.
"Will Kaka stay? I hope so," Berlusconi told reporters. "You have all seen how we behave at Milan, we do not have the attitude of forcing our will on players.
Manchester City were set to complete the coup of the century when their £100m offer was accepted by Milan. Kaka eventually decided to reject the English side.
Although Berlusconi is not worried about Kaka's future, he has some advice to those who want to leave Milan.
"Those who stay are happy to remain with us. When [Andriy] Shevchenko told us he wanted to play in England, and everyone knows how much we all loved him here, we didn't feel it was right to say no. His was a strong desire, repeated to us often."
Shevchenko did not impress at Celsea and his return to the San Siro will no doubt serve as a warning to Kaka.
