Serie A Weekend Preview

AC Milan are preparing for their clash at Catania confident they can challenge rivals Inter for the league title.

AC Milan are preparing for Sunday's Serie A clash at struggling Catania still confident they can challenge city rivals Inter for the league title in the remaining five fixtures.

The Rossoneri closed to within seven points of the leaders last weekend by beating Palermo while Inter lost 1-0 at Napoli.

All is to play for and Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi knows it.

"Scudetto? We need to wait and see," he said.

"Without Adriano's goal with his hand in the derby (on February 15 which Inter won 2-1) we would have be closer to Inter."

Inter entertain Lazio eager to leave behind last weekend's setback in Naples.

"It's not important how many points we have with respect to the other teams, but how many points we can collect from now until the end of the season," said Inter coach Jose Mourinho.

"There are still five games left, three games at home and two on the road, and we all together, players and fans, need to get the points we need."

Third-placed Juventus take on Lecce and their notoriously leaky defence looking to return to winning ways.

The Bianconeri have managed three draws in their last four games and have not won since their 4-1 triumph at Roma on March 21.

The game will be played behind close doors as the Turin club serve punishment for racist chanting.

In-form Fiorentina will fancy their chances of defending the fourth and final Champions League qualifying spot when they meet Torino in Florence.

The Turin outfit have failed to win a game on the road this campaign while the Viola have lost just twice at home this season.

Genoa will be hoping to rediscover their form after last weekend's surprising defeat by Bologna saw them drop to fifth in the standings.

The Grifoni are one point behind Fiorentina and entertain Sampdoria this weekend in the Lantern derby.

Palermo and Cagliari will battle it out at La Favorita with both teams still on course to play in Europe next season.

Both sides are on 49 points, three points behind sixth-placed Roma.

Luciano Spalletti's side meet in-form Chievo determined to cut the six-point gap with Fiorentina in their hopes of playing in the Champions League next season.

Having beaten Inter to clinch their first win under coach Roberto Donadoni, Napoli travel to Siena looking to claim their first win on the road since October 26.

Udinese look to increase their good run of form when they entertain Atalanta at the Stadio Friuli on the back of three consecutive wins.

Bologna will be hoping to climb out of the relegation zone when they meet rock-bottom Reggina this weekend.

The Rossoblu are one point behind Torino, who hold the last position of safety.
