Parma have gained promotion back into Italy's top flight after a one-year absence.

The Ducale club held Cittadella to a 2-2 draw yesterday to assure themselves of at least a second-place finish in Serie B.

"I am delighted," said Parma coach Francesco Guidolin. "I have to compliment my players for an excellent season.

"We will now enjoy this success and then sit down and discuss the Parma squad for next year."

Parma are seven points clear of Livorno and five behind leaders Bari with two games remaining.
