Lazio target Claudio Ranieri

Claudio Ranieri could find himself happily employed once again as Lazio seem to be interested in hiring him.

La Repubblica has claimed that Delio Rossi's time with Lazio is coming to an end, seeing that the Aquile have not offered him a contract extension, despite winning the Coppa Italia this season.

The article indicates Claudio Lotito will meet with Rossi this week to talk about the club's direction. If the duo fail to come to any resolution after the meeting, the Lazio supremo is thinking of replacing Rossi with the "Tinkerman".

Several sources from the organisation have claimed that Lotito is already in talks with Ranieri, and more is to be expected in the next few weeks.

Signing Ranieri will be a complicated task, however. The former Chelsea boss is currently in the midst of launching a full scale assault against his former club Juventus over his sacking. It is suggested the coach wants compensation for his sacking as he still had a year to run on his deal in Turin.

Until Ranieri resolves his squabbles with Juve over his contract, he will not be able to join Lazio.
