Genoa pair to join Inter Milan
Genoa's Diego Milito and Thiago Motta are both set to join Italian champions Inter Milan this summer.
The two players have been key members of a Genoa team that has challenged for a top-four finish in Serie A.
However, that has attracted considerable attention from other clubs and Genoa have been unable to hang on to them.
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi said of the agreement with Inter: "We have been left without two important players.
"I met Inter president (Massimo) Moratti for breakfast and we reached an agreement.
"It has been a painful choice but we have to thank the two players for what they have given the team this year."
The 29-year-old Milito returned to Genoa last summer from Spanish side Real Zaragoza and has been sensational.
The Argentina forward is the Grifoni club's top scorer with 20 goals.
Motta, meanwhile, has been a regular in Gian Piero Gasperini's squad since joining Genoa last year after a spell with Atletico Madrid.
"As part of the deal, we will get a financial sum and some players," said Preziosi.
"I can only say the name of (Robert) Acquafresca, who we have followed for the past few months."
Italian striker Acquafresca played on loan at Cagliari from Inter this season.
He will team up with Atalanta's top scorer Sergio Floccari, who will also play in Genoa next season.
"We've already signed Floccari for 11 million euros, beating Napoli," said Preziosi.
