Juventus captain Alessandro Del Pierro paid tribute to former international captain Paulo Maldini in the wake of his final game at the San Siro.

Speaking to SkyItalia after Juventus' impressive 3-0 victory at Siena, Del Piero bode an emotional farewell to the Milan legend who is retiring at the end of the season.

"I want to comment on Paolo, because he is quite simply the best there is, in every possible aspect. It is absolutely incredible the way he has continued to give everything, both in training and on the field, for so many years."

"The spirit in which he has always conducted himself is simply unique and an example to us all."

Del Pierro scored twice and set up the other goal in the win over Siena - giving new manager Ciro Ferrerer a dream start.
