Ibrahimovic is over the moon

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is proud to be the first Inter player in 20 years to win the capocannoniere trophy.

Aldo Serena was the last Inter star to lead the goalscoring charts in Italy's top flight and Ibrahimovic joined him in the club's history books after his two strikes in yesterday's 4-3 triumph over Atalanta gave him 25 for the season.

Genoa's Diego Milito and Bologna's Marco Di Vaio each finished with 24.

"It's great to finish like this," said Ibrahimovic. "It couldn't have gone any better.

"I have done everything in Italy.

"When I arrived in Italy, many criticised me. They said I was a fantastic player who didn't score. Now I have won the capocannoniere title and I have proved them wrong.

"I couldn't have done better than this."

When the Swedish striker first came to Italy, he spent two years with Juventus and helped them win the title in each season, although the club were eventually stripped of each as punishment for match-fixing.

Ibrahimovic, however, considers those as championships won in his career.

"I have won five scudetti," said the 27-year-old.

"I am missing the Coppa Italia and the Champions League. I don't know what else I need to do in Italy."

Ibrahimovic is uncertain about his future, with media speculation linking him to Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer.

When asked if he will play alongside Milito, who will join Inter this summer, Ibrahimovic said: "We will see if we will play together or just one of us. I don't know.

"If anything should happen, it will happen soon. We will see. I don't know anything."

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho believes Inter are stronger with Ibrahimovic.

"We want Ibrahimovic to play alongside Milito," he said. "This is our aim. Ibrahimovic has proved to be crucial for Inter and has all the conditions to continue because he knows that with (new signings) Thiago Motta and Milito, the club can improve and can continue to win."

Ibrahimovic is under contract with the Nerazzurri outfit until June 2010.
