Vucinic overjoyed with extended deal
There is some good news for AS Roma this season, as Mirko Vucinic penned an extension to his deal till 2013.
Vucinic is said to be over the moon with his current contract, and was relieved that it was over and done with so early in the offseason.
"It means so much to me to renew this contract, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank the club for the confidence they have given me," Vucinic declared in an interview with SkySports24.
The hitman then answered questions regarding his performance with the Giallorossi this season and why the club did not live up to pre-season expectations.
"Our season was not bad. We did manage to qualify for the Europa League, however we unfortunately missed out on the Champions League."
"To be honest, we didn't have much luck along the way, as we were on the receiving end of a significant amount of injuries throughout the season."
"Next season though, this will all be different, because I am sure that we will go back to playing our best football."
"The coach? I hope he remains at the club. I don't see any reason for him to move one. I have spent three wonderful years with him, however in the end, the decision is up to him."
