Roma have officially signed Bari youngster Stefano Guberti, who has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Giallorossi.

Guberti was one of Serie B's revelations last season and helped Bari gain promotion, catching the eye of a number of clubs in the process.

While Roma have now obtained his signature, they apparently had to stave off competition from Fiorentina and Juventus, according to earlier Italian reports.

"We are extremely happy about this deal," claimed the player's agent, Claudio De Nicola.

"Stefano moves to Rome with top motivation, we strongly wanted to join them despite offers from all around the peninsula."

"With this contract my client becomes an established top-flight player, who is now looking to prove his worth even further by playing in Serie A," noted De Nicola.

Meanwhile, Roma are apparently struggling to hold on to Italian international star Daniele de Rossi, with reports in Spain claiming strong interest from first Real Madrid and then Barcelona, both of whom have the resources to lure the 25-year old.
