Brighi wants improved deal

Roma midfielder Matteo Brighi is waiting for an improved contract but has ruled out leaving the capital to Milan.

His agent Vanni Puzzolo told the Italian media that his client is still waiting Roma to make the first move. Brighi's contract expires in 2012.

"We're still waiting to speak about the contract," revealed the player's agent to Sportmediaset.it.

"Matteo wants to remain in Rome - he has a contract until 2012 and cares about his rapport with the squad and the fans."

This means that the transfer rumours linking him to Inter are just pure speculation, and Puzzolo went on to categorically reject the whispers.

"I absolutely deny them," he continued. "Months ago I had heard something on this story, but we have never been contacted by Inter and we have never contacted the Nerazzurri's directors.

"What I can say is that in January, Milan contacted us also due to [Gennaro] Gattuso's injury. However, I repeat, we're happy with Roma."
