Luciano Moggi is not joining Bologna as a consultant, says the club's chief Renzo Menarini.

Moggi had told reporters on Tuesday that Menarini had asked him to find new members for the club last season.

The disgraced former Juventus director is currently serving a five-year ban for his involvement in the Calciopoli scandal.

But Menarini, who is worried about the fans' reactions, has declared there is no such plans.

"New members will not be arriving and Moggi will not be our consultant. If you consider speaking to him a sin, then I am responsible," Menarini explained

"I even had dinner with him yesterday evening, but I have never involved myself in Bologna's project.

"I only asked him for some friendly advice. The Moggi case does not exist. The fans should be calm because we will never betray them.

"We'll stay as we are with Giuseppe Papadopulo as Coach and Fabrizio Salvatori as director of sport.

"Antonio Conte will not arrive," he concluded.
